The agreement

Syllafall is made and run by Will Kilgallon, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, trading as Syllafall. These terms cover the Syllafall app and this website. By creating an account or playing, you agree to them.

How your data is handled is set out separately in the privacy policy.

Who can play

You need to be at least 13 years old, or at least 16 if you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to have an account.

Your account

• One account per person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account.
• Pick a username you would be happy to see on a public leaderboard. We can change or remove a username, display name or profile photo that is offensive, impersonates someone, or is designed to mislead.
• You can delete your account at any time, from inside the app.

Fair play

Every scored round is replayed on our servers and checked against the score you submitted. Rounds that do not check out are left out of leaderboards and standings, and a challenge whose result fails the check is forfeited.

Please do not:

• Use bots, scripts, modified clients or anything else that plays for you.
• Try to forge scores, tamper with what the app sends, or work around the replay check.
• Interfere with the servers, or try to get at data that is not yours.
• Harass other players, or use the social features to abuse anyone.

If you do, we may remove scores, reset a season, suspend the account, or close it. For anything serious we will close it without warning.

Coins and cosmetics

Coins are earned by playing. They cannot be bought, and there is nothing in Syllafall you can pay for. They are a scorekeeping device inside the game, not money.

• Coins have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the game.
• They cannot be transferred, sold or given to another player.
• They are a licence to use cosmetic items in the game, not property you own.
• We may adjust balances to correct a bug or reverse cheating, and if the game closes down, any remaining coins go with it.

What you put in

Your username, display name and profile photo are visible to other players. By using them you give us permission to show them inside the game, on leaderboards, and on results cards that players share. You keep whatever rights you had in them.

If you see something that should not be there, report it in the app. Reported photos are hidden automatically once enough people report them, and you can block anyone you would rather not see.

What we own

The game, its name, artwork, sounds and code belong to us. You get a personal, non-exclusive licence to play it. You may not copy it, take it apart, or build something from it, except where the law says you can regardless.

The game is free, and provided as it is

Syllafall costs nothing, and it comes with no promise that it will always be available, always be free of faults, or stay the same. Features can change, and the service can be suspended or withdrawn. We will give notice of anything major where we reasonably can.

Ending it

You can stop at any time by deleting your account: how to delete your account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why unless telling you would make the problem worse.

Liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, your legal rights are unaffected by these terms.

Beyond that, and because Syllafall is provided free of charge, we are not liable for lost scores, lost progress, lost coins, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using it.

Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

Changes, and getting in touch

If these terms change, the date at the top changes and anyone with an account is told in the app. Questions go to privacy@syllafall.com.
